What is a Multi-Activity Day?

The morning will start with an introduction to rock climbing; you will get to try a range of climbs and learn the climbing basics.

Then we will finish off the morning with an abseil.  If your multi-activity day is based in Borrowdale you will get to do a fantastic 100 foot abseil down the side of an old quarry.

After lunch we will go gorge walking usually in Stoneycroft beck or Honister Gill ("gill" is a Lake District word for mountain stream).  Whichever gorge you go to you are guaranteed an exciting afternoon complete with slides, jumps and plenty of getting wet.

You don't need any experience and we will provide all of the specialist equipment.

Useful Information

What you need to bring:
For the morning you will need enough clothes to keep you warm and dry whatever the weather. Please avoid jeans.  For climbing we recommend you wear a pair of well fitting trainers.
For the afternoon bring a wetsuit if you have one or if not please wear plenty of old, warm clothes (tracksuit and fleece are best - again no jeans) that you don’t mind getting wet and waterproofs. An old pair of trainers is best for your feet.

And don’t forget a complete change of clothes to change into when you get back to the car.
You will also need a packed lunch and drinks for the day.

We will provide: Helmets, harnesses, climbing hardware and ropes.

Transport is not included but most venues are accessible by bus.
The afternoon ghyll scramble will be at a different location but you will be able to follow your instructor there in your car.
