All of our courses will still run if it is raining. We will always adapt the courses to make sure we get the best out of the day.

It is extremely rare but of course it can happen if we consider it unsafe to run the course. Possible causes include extreme weather or blocked roads.
If we take the decision to cancel the course we will offer you the choice of coming again on a different date or a full refund.

Under 18s

Do you run courses for children?
All of our open courses are for over 18s only. We run lots of family courses where children are welcome but all under 18s MUST be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. This is a legal restriction and no exceptions can be made.
What is the youngest age for children on family courses?
This really depends on which activities you choose and the time of year so please get in touch and we can advise.

There is a huge range of accommodation in the Lake District from basic campsites to five star boutique hotels. A good place to start looking is the official tourist board website:

We are also big fans of Damson Lodge in Keswick.

Privacy Policy

What is this Privacy Policy for?
This privacy policy is for More than Mountains and governs the privacy of our customers and associates.
Why do we collect information?
At More than Mountains, we collect different types of information about our users & customers for four main reasons:

To provide personalised services unique to individual users.
To help us to monitor and improve the services we offer.
To fulfil contracted services.
If we have permission from the user, to market promotions and services to them.
What data do we collect about you?
Collecting specific, relevant personal information is a necessary part of us being able to provide you with any services you may request from us.
When you contact us about organising a course you may provide us with or we may obtain personal information about you, such as
1) information regarding your personal contact details that allows us to contact you directly such as name, title, address, email addresses and telephone numbers.
2) date of birth.
3) medical details.
4) records of your interactions with us such as telephone conversations, emails and other correspondence and your instructions to us.
5) records of your attendance on one of our courses and any incidents / near misses.
6) your marketing preferences so that we know whether and how we should contact you.
Why do you need to know my date of birth?
We ask for your date of birth for three reasons:
It is a legal requirement that all under 18s are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
It helps us understand who our courses appeal to and how we can improve them in the future.
It helps us recognise you at the meeting place.
Why do you need to know about any medical conditions or medication?
We collect this information so that we are aware of anything we should keep a careful eye out for during your course and also so that we can share the information with paramedics or doctors if the need should arise.
We prefer to ask you in advance rather than potentially have to discuss it in front of the group. If you would rather talk to us on the day just let us know.
We would like everyone to be able to access our courses and do not use this information to refuse entry.
Who do you share my information with?
We do not share your personal details with anyone.
The only exception to this is in the case of an emergency, accident or other illness we would give your personal details to a 999 operator, mountain rescue team member, paramedic or doctor if you were not able to do so.
