Our Multi-Activity days are extremely popular with groups of friends and families and are a fantastic way to make the most of a day in the Lake District. In one action packed day you will get the chance to try rock climbing, abseiling and gorge walking (also known as ghyll scrambling). This course is perfect if you and your family have not tried these outdoor activities before or if you have only ever climbed indoors. Absolutely no experience is necessary and our multi-activity days are a great introduction to rock climbing and gorge walking.
Gorge Walking, a fun and exciting activity to do with friends or family, takes you up or down a mountain stream sliding or clambering your way along. In the Lake District gorge walking is known as ghyll scrambling; ghyll is an old Norse word for mountain stream and scrambling is a much better description of what you will be doing: you’ll be using hands and feet to find the best way along the ghyll. Gorge walking is an all weather activity: it’s a great way to cool down on a hot day and you are going to get soaking wet anyway so it is a fantastic rainy day activity.
Are you ready to walk off a cliff backwards with nothing but a thin rope (and an experienced instructor) to keep you safe? Abseiling is a high adrenaline activity perfect for groups of friends or families. There are plenty of abseiling loactions throughout the Lake District and we can pick one to suit you depending on where you are staying and the level of challenge you would like to face. Our most popular abseiling venues are in Langdale, near Ambleside and in Borrowdale, near Keswick. Our prices are for the whole group (up to six people).
