
Rescue Skills for Multi-Pitch Climbing
A unique opportunity to practice escaping the system, prussiking, hoisting and retreating from climbs for intermediate climbers who can lead. Make sure you would know what to do if something went wrong.

Course Content
This one day workshop will give climbers the chance to learn about and practice essential rescue skills so that they can enjoy multi-pitch climbing competently and safely. We will cover how to lock off a belay plate, assisted and unassisted hoisting, escaping the system, personal abseiling and prussiking. These skills will be first taught at ground level and then in the afternoon there will be the opportunity to put them into practice on a route.
This day is suitable for intermediate to experienced climbers who have
had some experience of leading multi-pitch rock climbs. We will be
outside all day.
Useful Information
You will need to bring:
Enough
clothes to keep you warm and dry in all weathers. (Jeans are not
suitable for outdoor activities.)
Waterproof jacket and trousers.
Lunch and drinks. Plenty of snacks are good to keep energy up all day.
Rock climbing shoes.
Harness.
Climbing Rack
We will provide:
Any necessary climbing hardware, helmets
and ropes.
