Scrambling and Gorge Walking

Scrambling

Scrambling routes can be found somewhere between climbing and walking routes - you will need to use your hands but there are plenty of good hand holds and foot placements to help you along your way. Some of the best days out in the Lake District can be had by following quality scrambling routes to the summits of the highest peaks giving an alpine feeling to the day and a new way to enjoy the stunning surroundings.  Come on a private guided day or on our Introduction to Scrambling Course.

Gorge Walking and Ghyll Scrambling

Gorge Walking, or ghyll scrambling as it is known in the Lake District, is a fantastic way to spend an afternoon. Scrambling up or sliding down a mountain stream, trying to stay dry or getting soaking wet - there is a gorge walk for everyone. We can offer epic descents for anyone wanting a complete soaking or a gentler ascent exploring the wildlife and old mining works hidden away in the streams.  To find out more about gorge walking and ghyll scrambling just click on the links above.
