Beginners' Rock Climbing Course
If you have never tried rock climbing outside before come along on this one day course and we will show you why we love it! This course is ideal for anyone who has never climbed or has only climbed indoors. The course is based in Borrowdale, one of the most scenic parts of the Lake District and only ten minutes by bus or car from Keswick.

Course Content
You will have the opportunity to try a number of different climbs which can be as hard or as easy as you like. We will also show you how to tie onto the rope correctly and how to 'belay' (i.e. hold the rope while someone else climbs and lower them back down again.) At the end of the day there will also be the chance to have a go at abseiling.
No prior experience is needed for this day: just lots of enthusiasm to try out a new challenge. We will meet at the climbing venue at 09.30 and the day will finish around 16.30. We will be outside all day. There are a number of suitable cliffs that can be climbed on in all conditions so the course will go ahead whatever the weather.
Useful Information
You will need to bring:
Enough clothes to keep warm and dry in all weathers (jeans are not suitable for outdoor activities).
Waterproof jacket and trousers.
Lunch and drinks. Plenty of snacks are a good idea to keep your energy levels up all day.
A pair of well fitting trainers.
We will provide:
All climbing hardware, harnesses, helmets
and ropes.
Other Information:
There will be no more than six participants per instructor.
